Mole Fraction Calculator
What is this calculator for?
This Mole Fraction Calculator helps you determine the mole fraction of a component in a chemical mixture. Mole fraction is a unit of concentration that expresses the ratio of the number of moles of a component to the total number of moles in the mixture.
How to use this calculator
- Enter the moles of the desired component (e.g., Component A).
- Enter the total moles in the mixture (sum of all components).
- Click the "Calculate Mole Fraction" button to see the result.
Formula Used
Mole Fraction (XA) = nA / ntotal
Where:
nA = moles of component A
ntotal = total moles of all components
Example
If you have 2 moles of substance A and the total moles of all substances in the mixture is 5, then:
Mole Fraction = 2 / 5 = 0.4
